A structured view across the House of Solutions
FTP internships are designed to show how an organisation works as one connected system. In a one-week individual placement, a student rotated through Marketing, Human Resources, Quality, Finance and Information Technology, seeing how each team contributes to service, trust and organisational performance.
The experience is shared publicly as an example of the learning model without naming the individual participant.

Learning through real departments and practical tasks
A useful internship provides context as well as observation. Interns see how teams set priorities, communicate, manage standards and support customers; where appropriate, they also complete guided tasks that build confidence and professional judgement.
- Operations and customer-service context
- Marketing and social-media content
- Human Resources and candidate interviews
- QHSE, quality and continuous improvement
- Finance and responsible operations
- Information Technology and digital support

The GEMS WSO winners’ internship
The GEMS Wellington Silicon Oasis Shark Tank winners progressed from the 14-week Leadership & Governance programme into a hands-on FTP internship. Their experience included exposure to operations, QHSE and finance, creating social-media content and participating in candidate interviews.
They also attended a leadership breakfast and received one-to-one career advice from Mr. Ghanim Al Falasi, connecting the skills developed during the programme with expectations, opportunities and decisions in the workplace.

What students take forward
Short placements can have lasting value when they help learners recognise their strengths, ask informed questions and understand the many roles behind a successful organisation. FTP’s approach is designed to turn curiosity into clearer career awareness—and learning into a practical next step.
- Professional communication and confidence
- A clearer view of career pathways
- Understanding teamwork across departments
- Reflection on personal strengths and interests
