The UAE government has confirmed there will be no extension to the visa amnesty programme that ends on October 31. Individuals who have received exit permits are urged to depart by the deadline to avoid penalties, as the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) will implement stricter enforcement measures after this date. Those who remain without legal status will face fines, deportation, and be placed on a no-entry list, barring future reentry into the UAE.

As the programme, which began on September 1, approaches its conclusion, the ICP plans increased inspection campaigns in residential and business areas to locate remaining violators. Those found to be non-compliant will be subject to enforcement actions without court proceedings. In the two months since the programme launched, thousands have regularized their status or received assistance to exit the country.

During this period, special support has been offered to individuals with unique circumstances, including ticket discounts or free tickets, often in collaboration with airlines. The ICP will announce the final number of individuals who benefitted from the amnesty once the programme concludes. In September alone, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai confirmed that nearly 20,000 individuals had their statuses regularized, and 7,401 exit permits were issued.
